Karla's reflection
In developing this resource I have come to acquire a more in depth understanding of the Eucharist and how it affects our lives in the Catholic Religion. I have come to understand that the Eucharist is a deep mystery, that reveals God and brings us closer to him. We cannot discover this on our own, but is given to us as a gift of God's revelation (Knox, 1999). This is not something we can easily understand, but through active participation in celebrating the Eucharist it allows us to open our minds and harts us to receive God and bring us closer to Him.
While researching this I have discovered that the Eucharist is the central act of worship by the People of God. This celebration brings us together as one caring, sharing community and binds us into one body, where the devotion to faith and the Eucharist keeps this body together.

jessica's reflection
The development of this resource has guided me in developing a deeper understanding of the significance of the Eucharist in our lives. Human beings are seekers of meaning and purpose in their lives and are focused on becoming transcendent (Wedd, 2015). Through our personal sacramental awareness, we are able to see the sacraments as visible signs of God’s presence. During these times we are exposed to Gods guidance and assistance to grow. Sacramental awareness reveals that God is present to us everywhere in creation if we are willing to look for him (Knox, 1999).
Catholics believe that the primary message spoken by God is one of love. Consequently, the world is filled with meaning, charged with the Spirit, a revelation of God’s presence as grace. In that sense we are always surrounded by sacraments. During significant moments in our lives, our personal sacramental awareness helps us to see visible signs of God’s presence in our world. Sacramental awareness leads to a special appreciation of the sacred in the world. The invisible attributes of God, particularly his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived ever since the creation of the world, in the things that he has made.
